Ski and Snowboard Service Technicain

Idaho Mountain Touring is a premier outdoor, bike, ski, snowboard, and cross-country ski shops whose customers expect the highest level of service to keep their bikes and skis running in top shape. The Ski and Snowboard Service Technician will complete cross-country ski service, alpine and backcountry ski service, and snowboard service efficiently and expertly to help maintain our customers’ equipment at the highest level. The ideal candidate will have ski service and bike mechanic experience, but training is available for those who are technically apt and motivated to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • General Ski and Snowboard Service
    • - Waxing, Scraping, Brushing Skis/Snowboards.
    • - Mounting Alpine, Tech, and Tele ski bindings
    • - Installing bindings on XC skis and rollerskis.
    • - Cutting Poles to size and maintaining pole grips and straps.
    • - Repairing Ski, XC Ski, and Snowboard equipment.
    •  
  • Stone Grinding and Edging
    • - Operate Stone Grinding Machinery – Startup, Shutdown, Maintenance
    • - Operate Edge Grinding Machinery – Startup, Shutdown, Maintenance
    • - Stone Grind Skis: work well with hands to efficiently flatten, polish and apply final stone grind structures on skis in a production environment.
    • - Quality Control: Monitor and Maintain quality control during all steps of the stone grinding and edging process.
    •  
  • Customer Interaction
    • - Work with customers during intake of service work.
    • - Follow procedures while creating and updating accurate, well-documented work orders throughout the service process.
    • - Monitor customer work orders to ensure timely completion.
    • - Initiate prompt and accurate communication with customers in the event of delays.
    • - Engage Retail Leads/Managers to address issues with work orders.
    •  
  • Assist sales team with technical questions.
  • Occasionally assist on sales floor.
  • Train to combine with Bike Mechanic duties.
