    March 27th Updates

Idaho Mountain Touring will continue to operate with restrictions to limit the risk and exposure of staff and customers to potential exposure. The goal of these restricted operations is to help customers find the products they need and the service they require in an expedited manner.

    Why We're Open

Legally, bike shops are considered essential businesses because they provide repair services to those who use their bicycles as a mode of transportation, similar to auto repair shops. We want to continue to support the cycling community in Boise by keeping everyone's bikes working safely and correctly.

    Greeting Customers

The front door will stay locked at all times. A staff member will greet each customer at the door. This staff member will determine the customer’s needs and take one of the following actions:

    • Lead service customers to the service counter to be helped by a mechanic, one at a time.

    • Assist the customer in finding the product they are looking for, ringing them out, then accompany them out of the store.

    • We are providing gloves for customers who wish to browse in the store.

    Families and Large Groups

If possible, children should be left at home. If not possible, they are to be held or hold the parent’s hand the whole time. No children will be allowed to wander or run around the store unattended.

    Bike & Ski Service

Customers who are dropping off items for service will be escorted to the service counter where a mechanic will assist them. Only one service customer will be allowed in the store at a time. We ask that customers be courteous of the 6-foot distance while working with staff.

    • Bikes and skis are to be disinfected on all contact points when the customer brings them in.
    • Mechanics are required to wear gloves at all times.
    • Bikes are to be disinfected after all test rides.
    • Bikes are to be disinfected on touchpoints as they are brought out to customers for pick up.

    Customer & Staff Safety

Customers browsing the store are required to wear gloves.

A staff member will help customers who need a specific item. This staff member will handle the merchandise rather than the customer.

Customers test riding bikes are required to wear gloves. Bikes that have been tested are required to be sanitized before and after test rides.

Idaho Mountain Touring has taken extra precautions to ensure the safety of our customers and staff. We are following all CDC recommendations on cleanliness and sanitation of in-store high contact points. We ask that all employees feeling ill stay home as well. In addition to these steps we are also making the following changes to store hours and rentals. Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this difficult time.

    Store Hours

Hours for the Boise and Meridian stores will be as follows, until further notice:

    Monday - Friday 10am-6pm

    Saturday 9am-6pm

    Sunday 11am-5pm

    Cleaning

At Idaho Mountain Touring, we pride ourselves on providing a clean environment. With this in mind, we have increased our cleaning frequency of areas such as the restrooms, counters, phones, door handles, keypads, and other frequent contact areas. We are also actively monitoring the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for current recommendations.

    restrooms closed

Out of an abundance of caution, and to eliminate one of the highest risk areas of the store, our restrooms are no longer open for public use. Thank you for your understanding.

    Events

All in-store events have been cancelled for the next 30 days. We will reassess events in mid-April.

    Bike and Ski Rentals

For the safety of our customers we are suspending all bike and ski rentals until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to get this service back up and running as soon as possible.

    Online Orders

Similar cleaning and safety precautions are being taken during fulfillment of web orders. Staff is wearing gloves while packaging orders and is cleaning and sanitizing work areas often. Web orders will be processed like normal on a Monday-Friday schedule. We have built a large catalog of the products we carry in the store to offer on our website.
